Saint Gatian, the first bishop of Tours in France, was a disciple of Saint Denis of Paris, although little is known about his life. Upon his arrival in Gaul, a pagan land that had yet to experience the Good News, Gatian sowed the first seeds of faith in the Tours region, establishing the Church in the city of Saint Martin. Saint Gatian passed away in 337.
