Dear Patriot in Christ,
Something special is happening this month. On June 11, as part of the celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the US bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
America, the beautiful, will now be placed under the patronage and protection of the Heart of Christ. This is a profound act of faith and a declaration that, as a nation, our trust is in Jesus.
We want Americans across the country to know that the Church is making this historic consecration. To help spread that message, Catholics for Catholics is launching our 3rd Annual Sacred Heart Billboard Campaign throughout the month of June.
This year’s campaign will highlight the bishops’ consecration with a bold declaration: ONE NATION UNDER CHRIST. These billboards will appear in cities across the nation as more than mere advertising—they will be a public prayer, placing the Face of Jesus and His Heart burning with love for souls before millions of people, while declaring that our highest allegiance belongs to Him and His Holy Catholic Church.
We invite you to support this effort with a donation and help proclaim Christ’s Mercy and Kingship publicly.
Years from now, when our children ask how we marked America’s 250th Anniversary, we will be able to say that we knelt before God, consecrated ourselves to His Sacred Heart, and helped lead souls back to Christ.
Scripture tells us, “They will look on me whom they have pierced” (Zechariah 12). In this semiquincentennial year, let us turn our gaze toward Christ, whom we have wounded by our sins, and implore His infinite mercy upon our beloved nation.
