Fox News reports that President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 and will self-isolate in Delaware. According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the President is “vaccinated and boosted” and is experiencing mild symptoms. He will continue to carry out his duties remotely while in isolation.
Biden was diagnosed after experiencing upper respiratory symptoms, a runny nose, and a non-productive cough, with a normal temperature of 97.8°F. His doctor has prescribed him Paxlovid and he will be isolating at his home in Rehoboth, Delaware.
The President had been scheduled to speak at the UnidosUS Annual Conference in Las Vegas, but was unable to attend due to his diagnosis. Despite this, he has vowed to continue working to serve the American people while recovering from his illness.
Fox News also mentions that Biden’s diagnosis comes as he faces pressure from within the Democratic Party and donors to drop out of the presidential race due to concerns about his physical and mental state.
