Exclusive audio provided to Candace Owens reveals the grandparents of Tyler Robinson, accused of killing Charlie Kirk, believe in their grandson’s innocence.
An audio recording captured a conversation between the grandfather and two independent journalists conversing during a break while at the courthouse in Utah for the evidentiary hearing in the case.
Here’s a transcript of the conversation:
Journalist: Why are you guys for Tyler? What are you for, Tyler, or the other side?
Grandfather: Grandparents.
Journalist: Oh you’re grandparents?
2nd Journalist: Oh wow. I’m really sorry you’re going through this.
Grandfather: Yeah, it sucks, but we’re here to support.
2nd Journalist: Yeah, we think your grandchild is absolutely framed, but I’m an investigative journalist…
Grandfather: Well I do, too. I’m a hunter and I know what a .30-06 will do.
The grandfather also went on to explain that his own father was a cop and taught him about ballistics.
Tyler Robinson is accused of using his grandfather’s rifle, a family heirloom, to shoot and kill Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, with a .30-06 bullet.
The initial media narrative portrayed a scenario in which Tyler’s own family believed he was involved in the assassination plot, but those early claims have been disputed and called into question.
Many independent media voices with experience in weapons and ballistics were quick to cast doubt on the assertion that a .30-06 bullet was used in the assassination, as that caliber tends to be extremely destructive, and the apparent wounds on Charlie did not seem to match the typical result of a .30-06.
