A ten-minute clip from a recent podcast episode from Tucker Carlson has already gained over half a million views, and during the segment, he vigorously defends Catholicism.
Tucker replayed a clip from the PBD (Patrick Bet-David) Podcast in which the host and others criticized Catholicism and implied that Catholics are anti-semitic.
“I don’t know why Catholics have this issue with Jews,” Bet-David said.
“I get the Jews have issues with Christians and they’ll make fun and they’ll say stuff like…well [Jesus] was a Jew anyways, right?”
“But then Catholics have that issue with Jews. And they act like, you know, they’re all innocent and everything,” he concluded.

Bet-David then turned to the authority of the pope: “And when you look at Catholics, the amount of centralized power they have…Catholics, God forbid you say something about the pope.”
Commenting that the rest of the Christian community does not have a centralized authority figure, Bet-David then compared Catholicism to Islam. “Only Catholics and Muslims have somebody that they look at as their supreme leader, like you know, you got to go to somebody. But even more, it’s Catholic.”
Another panelist chimed in, “Well, there’s only two theocracies in the world. Catholicism and…the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
In replaying this clip from the PBD podcast, Tucker came right out and called it “slander.”
“It’s an attack on the world’s largest and oldest Christian denomination. And it’s taking place openly,” Tucker stated. “And it’s all coming from the same source, which is Israel. The issue is Israel.”
He then described what he refers to as a new religion of “Israelism”: “Anyone who supports the Netanyahu government, not Israel as a concept, not all Jews. No, the Netanyahu government, anyone who ratifies every decision, no matter how violent or grotesque or genocidal of the Netanyahu government, those are the good people. And anyone who doesn’t, is a Nazi. And by the way, their religion itself is a Nazi religion. It’s an inherently anti-Semitic religion. That’s what they’re telling you out in the open.”
Tucker continued to defend Catholicism specifically, saying, “And the kind of casual dismissal, the mockery, the loathing of the oldest and largest Christian church is just remarkable.” He also went on to justify the pope’s stance on the Iranian conflict as well.
“All Christian leaders have a duty to consult the gospel as they think about their positions on things. That’s the whole point of the gospel. And as a Christian leader, the leader of the biggest Christian denomination, like I’m not for war,” Tucker said.
