On Monday, CEO of TPUSA, Erika Kirk, did not attend a Georgia event she was slated to host with Vice President JD Vance. Vance did attend, and TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet stood in Erika’s place.
The event organizers and ticket holders did not know Erika would be absent until Kolvet announced it on stage.
Kolvet told the crowd that Erika decided not to attend because “she has received some very serious threats in her direction” and that it was a “a terrible reflection on the state of reality and the state of the country.”
A source told CBS News, however, that the Secret Service “was not tracking any specific or credible threats tied to the venue or to Vance” and that “the site was secure, and there were no known threats to the protectee.”
Members of the public quickly questioned why the event would be safe enough for Vice President Vance to attend but not Erika, especially given a later revelation that another scheduled appearance at a high school earlier in the day was cancelled one day prior.
Kolvet later claimed that it was Erika’s travel arrangements which had been doxxed.
I was so looking forward to tonight’s event at the @universityofga with our Vice President @JDVance, but after all our family has been through, I take my security team’s recommendations extremely seriously. Thank you to our amazing Georgia chapter for your support. God bless you… https://t.co/f2rBre9ArJ
