During a House Judiciary Committee subcommittee hearing addressing the weaponization of the FACE Act on Tuesday, Congressman Brandon Gill (R-TX) put on what some are calling a “masterclass” in exposing the absurdity of abortion.
Gill asked a witness who had been invited to testify by the Democrats about her favorite abortion method. The witness, Jessica Waters, a legal advocate for abortion, replied that she did not have a favorite method but supported access to the full realm of “reproductive healthcare.”
The congressman then read through a description of the suction abortion method. “Do you prefer that method?” he asked. Clearly uncomfortable, Ms. Waters looked down at the table, avoiding eye contact, and said, “I stand by my former testimony.”
“It sounds pretty gruesome,” Congressman Gill said. “Do you agree?” Again, the witness repeated that she stood by her previous testimony.
Gill turned to the dilation method of abortion and followed with the same line of questioning. The witness dodged the question, and the congressman mentioned that she is an abortion advocate, indicating it is natural that they would be discussing abortion – not just the FACE Act. Ms. Waters quickly corrected him to describe herself as a “access to reproductive healthcare advocate.”
“You don’t want to talk about abortion itself. Why is that?” the congressman asked. He proceeded to describe additional abortion methods, and Ms. Waters continued repeating that she would prefer to discuss the FACE Act.

“This is the subject of the hearing,” Gill stated plainly. “This is about protests outside of abortion clinics. I’m asking you about abortion.”
“I stand by my prior testimony,” Waters said again.
“I wouldn’t want to talk about this either, if I were you. Because it is barbaric and evil,” he concluded.
The clip of the hearing shared to X by Congressman Gill quickly gained praise from pro-life advocates, including many Catholics.

Conservative podcaster Isabel Brown wrote, “Congress needs 535 Brandon Gills.” Matt Walsh added that his questioning was “Brilliantly done” and Michael Knowles wrote that it was “Simply masterful.” All three are Catholic.
