As peace talks with Iran near the moment of truth, President Donald Trump will make an unusual trip to Camp David on Wednesday to hold a cabinet meeting.
All cabinet members — including outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard — are likely to join Trump at the presidential retreat in rural Maryland, according to a story by Fox News.
Guarded by US Marines, the 125-acre compound is located deep in Catoctin Mountain Park and is a secure location for sensitive discussions to be held without snooping from unwanted guests or media members.
The meeting comes as the administration evaluates next steps in high-stakes parleys aimed at securing a broader truce with Tehran amid a delicate ceasefire.
In recent days Trump has suggested the sides are closing in on a potential breakthrough, while Iranian officials have publicly pushed back on claims that a deal is in the cards.

Historically, Camp David has been set aside for major national security and diplomatic deliberations. Trump hosted meetings on the property 15 times during his first term as president.
On June 8, 2025, Trump hosted Cabinet members and senior officials at Camp David for discussions on Iran and Gaza. Weeks later, on June 22, 2025, Trump directed U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
While administration officials have publicly claimed that diplomacy remains, the latest military action underscored how fast tensions could escalate despite the ongoing peace deals.
The Camp David meeting also comes amid growing tension inside Trump’s political coalition over Iran policy, with some Republican lawmakers cautioning against deeper U.S. military participation in the region even as the administration maintains that military pressure remains an option if diplomacy falters.
