The FBI foiled a volatile drone attack which was aimed at Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn; authorities have arrested five suspects.
The terror attack allegedly included using explosive-laden drone aircraft to hit buildings in the area of the event, provoking mass panic and driving the bolting crowd toward a sniper team poised to pick victims off, the officials said.
Besides the five people who were in custody as of Monday, investigators identified 23 individuals as part of what they described as a potential network of plotters, according to a story by Fox News.
FBI investigators became aware of the threat on June 10 and worked with associates to secure probable cause for an arrest in Cincinnati. Tycen Proper, one of the suspects, was taken into custody.
