Several former U.S. presidents spent a lot of money and tried vehemently to take down the “Joe Rogan Experience” program from Spotify, alleging the host was creating a public misinformation scandal right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, podcast host Joe Rogan said that various former U.S. presidents and critics ‘spent a lot of money’ attempting to remove his show, according to a story by Fox News.
Sitting down with behavior expert Chase Hughes, Rogan discussed social media and the importance of influence on various platforms while dealing with critics.
Rogan revealed during the interview that his show lost an important number of sponsors during the pandemic despite having such a large following due to various statements he made about vaccines and lockdowns.
“Well, the position that I was in during the COVID thing was very unique,” Rogan said.

He says the campaign against him was coordinated, well-funded, and came from the highest levels of power.
They attacked his sponsors, organized PACs, and went all-in to…
“I had already — I’d gotten such a head start. I was so far ahead of them,” he added. “They didn’t realize my ability to say, ‘Wait, this is — this doesn’t make any sense.’ Like, none of this makes any sense.”
Right in the middle of the pandemic, Rogan’s comments set off a media firestorm, he said. He revealed this week that a batch of PACs and several other groups pressured Spotify and his sponsors to get rid of his show from the Sweden-based company’s platform.
“Thank God I was on Spotify, and thank God Spotify is not an American company,” Rogan said. “And, also, it helped that I was No. 1 in, like, 90 countries and not No. 90 in one country, you know? That helped. That helped a lot.”
On Wednesday, Rogan claimed that even former presidents were involved in the alleged takedown.
“I can’t even talk about it, but there [were] presidents involved — and former presidents involved — that were contacting Spotify,” Rogan said. “[They were] trying to get me removed for vaccine misinformation. And it turned out to be right. All of it. Not a single [person] apologized.
“I lost a lot, a lot during those days.”
