For some time now under the cover of darkness, U.S. forces have been taking ships filled with oil barrels through the Strait of Hormuz with the goal of stopping fuel prices from soaring, according to a story by Newsmax.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump said that U.S. operations have unobtrusively removed millions of barrels of oil from Iran, claiming the effort helped prevent global oil prices from causing havoc.
As he spoke to reporters at the Oval Office, Trump said the United States has been taking “millions of barrels” through the Strait of Hormuz during the conflict with Iran, adding that the operation had not been publicly revealed until now.
“We’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil. Nobody knows it,” Trump said. “We’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil, millions of barrels every night.”
U.S. forces recently removed 22 ships of oil, Trump said, adding that the vessels were moving without lights and that Iranian radar capabilities had been drastically damaged.

“We took out the other night 22 ships late at night with no lights because they don’t have any radar,” Trump said. “Because we blasted the crap out of it.”
“That’s why oil is $85 a barrel,” Trump said. “Millions of barrels of oil have come out, and that’s why it’s at $85, $90 a barrel instead of $250.”
Trump added that more than 200 commercial ships have safely voyaged through the strait overall, he said. He contended that the actions helped keep oil prices from rising far higher amid the conflict.
Still, the president said he had abstained from talking about the operation in public because he did not want to imperil its success.
“It was very hard for me. I wanted to say it so badly, but I didn’t want to ruin it,” he said. “Now that they figured it out, I can tell you.”
