The U.S. would intensify punitive strikes against Tehran, destroying or bombing one bridge or power plant every time a ship is attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, said President Donald Trump, after the U.S. revealed the death of more service members overseas.

“From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran,” Trump said in a Truth Social post on July 22, according to a story by Newsmax.

Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, upheld the administration’s severe approach, contending that permitting Iran to control access to the Strait of Hormuz would set a perilous international pattern.

“If we create a precedent in the Middle East where a nation-state can decide that they are going to control an international waterway, charge a toll, and if you don’t pay them, blow up your ships, we have created a very dangerous precedent,” Rubio said during a regional summit in the Philippines.

Trump’s warning happened after another night of U.S. strikes aimed at Iranian military infrastructure, including aircraft hangars and drone storage facilities.

Time and time again the President has vowed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open to international commerce while deterring Iran from threatening global shipping.

Meanwhile, Iranian air defenses were active over Tehran as American strikes entered an 11th consecutive night.

Tehran also discharged missiles toward Jordan’s port city of Aqaba, causing interceptions by Jordanian forces and raising fears the conflict could spread further across the region.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabian officials also issued missile alerts before later announcing the immediate danger had passed.
