Last Friday, General Mike Flynn formally endorsed John Frankman, a Catholic running for Congress in Florida’s 1st congressional district.
Flynn, the former National Security Advisor to President Trump during his first term, wrote, “John is a former Special Forces Green Beret Captain who understands that leadership requires courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to principle. When his career was placed on the line, John refused to abandon his faith or surrender his conscience. That is precisely the kind of moral courage we desperately need in Washington.”
Frankman was forced out of military service due to his refusal to take the COVID vaccine.

In an exclusive interview with Catholics for Catholics, Frankman explained that his knowledge of how fetal cells were used in the research and development of the vaccine had to have come from babies whose kidneys had already developed led him to conclude he could not justify taking the vaccine.
“As a Green Beret, we learn how psychological operations are used to overthrow another country, and the fact that we didn’t see that psychological operations were being used within our own country to force this mandate and have more government control was crazy to me,” he told Catholics for Catholics. He is also still seeking to hold military leaders accountable for pushing the COVID vaccine mandate and is one of the original 231 signatories of the Declaration of Military Accountability (DMA).
During the interview, Frankman also talked about his conversion to Catholicism. He holds a Master’s degree in Systematic Theology from Mount St. Mary’s and completed his thesis on St. Thomas of Aquinas under the direction of Dr. Michael Hahn, son of Catholic convert and apologist Dr. Scott Hahn.
Continuing his endorsement of the candidate, Flynn wrote, “John Frankman will defend our Constitution, put America First, and fight for the people of Northwest Florida.”
The primary election for this race is on August 18.
