The original 60-day parleying period spelled out in the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding has ended, denoting a new trial for the deal that stopped military operations between the two countries and formed an outline for a broader treaty.
On June 17, President Donald Trump signed the MOU at the Palace of Versailles on June 17 during the G7, giving the U.S. and Iran a span of 60 days — unless prolonged by agreement on both sides — to confer a final agreement addressing sanctions, Iran’s nuclear program and other outstanding issues, according to a story by Fox News.
Trump, speaking with chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst on Monday, said Tehran should “put up the white flag of surrender,” while indicating he was not enforcing a new deadline on Tehran. “I have no time schedule. I’m not in a hurry,” Trump said.
In addition, the President added that if Oman, which has been negotiating with Iran over arrangements for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, gets in the way, the U.S. will “bomb the s— out of them.”

No progress.
Iran still attacking ships.
Strait of Hormuz still under threat.
Nuclear ambitions still intact.
President Trump just put them on notice:
“We OWN the Strait of Hormuz.
Hit us and we hit back 100 TIMES HARDER.”… pic.twitter.com/TWQmZJ5ANz
Ah but there’s more. Much more.
On Friday, Trump said he will declare the Strait of Hormuz a U.S. territory when the war with Iran ends.
“After we finish defeating Iran, which is being very badly defeated, pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States,” said Trump.
