US Ambassador Mike Huckabee Calls Out “Israeli Terrorists” in the West Bank

The US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, surprised many this week when he publicly called out the “Israeli terrorists” who have been harassing a group of Palestinians, including a Palestinian American, in the West Bank.

His comments come after weeks of mounting pressure as Jewish settler violence continues to be exposed in the West Bank. The Franciscans in the United States pleaded with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Huckabee earlier in the summer to address the violence against Palestinians by radical Israeli settlers that it “is growing to a breaking point.”

Huckabee specifically spoke out with regard to the incident in Qusra that has developed this past week. As the Vulnerable People Project reported from the ground, the incident started when radical Israeli settlers who were armed “erected an outpost tent outside two family homes, cutting off water and electricity for seven days.”

“While official statements signaled an operation to dismantle the illegal outpost and detain non-state actors, field reports reveal that troops simultaneously evicted dozens of local Palestinian families from neighboring homes, clearing out their furniture to convert their residences into military barracks,” the report continued.

The primary property under siege, however, belongs to a Palestinian American.

Newsmax adds that the “group that has included up to dozens of men has thrown stones, attempted to bring down a stone wall nearby, and prevented the occupants from leaving despite dwindling supplies.”

Responding to a report that the White House had intervened and asked why the government had allowed this siege to continue for days, Huckabee wrote that the US embassy “has been VERY involved & the IDF & Israel Police have gone at our request to remove the Israeli terrorists doing this.”

He continued, “The actions of those doing this to this family’s home is criminal.  The WH hasn’t ‘intervened’ because we have kept DC apprised of the situation already.  Actions by those who carried out this horrific act of terror meant to intimidate and harass this family are disgusting.  No excuse for such thuggish behavior.”

John Yep, President of Catholics for Catholics, interviewed Jason Jones of the Vulnerable People Project who is currently in Lebanon on Thursday morning. This interview will be published on YouTube soon.
