The Vice President says that if artificial Intelligence companies fear they are building a monster, they should take some caution and do something about it.

To Vice President JD Vance, it’s simple: if artificial intelligence companies are building a Frankenstein monster, well, halt.
Vance cautioned artificial intelligence companies that “if you’re building Frankenstein, stop” or “build the defensive mechanism,” according to a story by Newsmax.
“The president, I think, is very rightly asking the question, why is it that the people who are at the frontier of the AI economy are throwing up their hands and saying, ‘Well, we’ve built Frankenstein,’ and the solution to Frankenstein, apparently, is to create a one-world governance structure for artificial intelligence?” Vance said.
The creators who are worried about dangers produced by their technology should concentrate on avoiding those dangers or providing tools capable of neutralizing them.

“If you’re going to create Frankenstein, don’t come to the government and say, ‘We need regulation,'” Vance said. “Look inward and accept that if you’re building Frankenstein, number one, you should stop.
“And number two, when the companies come to you and say, ‘We need the tools to fight back against Frankenstein,’ give them those tools.”
On Tuesday, speaking remotely at the All-In Summit 2026, Vance questioned calls from leading AI developers for greater government participation in regulating fast advancing models.
Vance’s remarks came amid a growing debate among technology executives over whether the development of increasingly powerful AI should be slowed.
On Saturday, Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic called for AI companies to “slow the pace” at which their models become more capable, arguing that developers need additional time to establish safeguards.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and xAI CEO Elon Musk publicly backed Amodei’s call for greater caution.
