A Ste. Genevieve, Missouri man who allegedly threatened to kill every person at the headquarters of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, pleaded not guilty Thursday to a felony charge.
According to a story by Fox 2 News, court records show that Jeremiah Robinson, 32, is charged with first-degree making a terrorist threat and is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
Robinson allegedly posted two TikTok videos Sept. 15 in which he threatened violence at the Archdiocese. He allegedly recorded one video while driving to the property and another while on church grounds, according to prosecutors
Detectives say Robinson asserted he was following instructions from God and declared in one video that “everyone who walks into that church is guilty” and should be slain. Authorities allege he later showed the Archdiocese building in a second video and said his directions were to leave “no one breathing.”
According to a probable cause statement filed by the Shrewsbury Police Department, the FBI’s National Operations Center alerted officers to the videos. Archdiocesan employees were evacuated while bomb detection dogs explored the property. Police said no explosives or other threats were found.
According to the Fox 2 News story, court documents indicate Robinson later spoke with officers by phone and told them they should be “highly concerned.” Investigators said Robinson later confessed he went to the Archdiocese property and made the TikTok posts.
Scheduled for Sept. 23 is a bond review hearing; a preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 14. If released, Robinson may not come within 50 feet of the Archdiocese, according to court records.
