People who signed up for Obamacare insurance and did not receive a federal subsidy are scheduled to receive a $500 rebate as a payment for “overcharges” by the Biden administration, according to the Trump administration.
On Thursday, the Trump administration said that it planned to send $500 in rebates to almost every one of the million people insured under the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare, labeling the money as payments for “overcharges” by the previous administration, according to a story by the Epoch Times.
Folks are scheduled to get the checks next month, just weeks before the midterm elections, considered by many political observers as one of the most pivotal in decades.
“Our administration is doing the right thing and giving the money back to the people who were wrongly ripped off,” Trump said in a video address released through the White House’s X account.
In addition, the Times’ story added that Trump said that those Americans were compelled to pay hundreds of millions of dollars under the prior administration. He also scolded Democrats for supporting big insurance companies.

The check will be “sent to their home address” in the near future, the president added.
The President said his administration will send the refunds of “these excess fees to Americans who do not receive premium assistance” in 30 states that use the federal exchange for their Obamacare health insurance markets.
The states are Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Many early retirees, entrepreneurs, farmers and ranchers and folks who earn more than around $65,000 a year and do not receive health coverage from their employment, could get the money.
