We are proud to announce our support for Michael Gates who is running for Attorney General of the State of California.
Michael and I share a common past in that we both spent some time discerning a vocation to the priesthood. After this period of discernment, Michael sought to live his faith as a layman in the public arena.
Michael is a proud Catholic, husband, and father of five who served the public for ten years as the elected City Attorney of Huntington Beach. He built a reputation for supporting law enforcement and prosecuting crimes as they should be, helping to restore quality of life. Last year, he was appointed Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
After a period of prayer, he made the decision to run for the office of Attorney General for California!
This position is extremely important for any state, as law and order depends on if the laws will actually be enforced.
Michael has also been a long time champion of Catholic values.
Last year, as Deputy Assistant Attorney General, he defended the Seal of Confession for priests in Washington State when it was under assault from Governor Ferguson. He also fought to make the lifesaving Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) protocol available to all women in California, and he took on the schools that sought to “transition” kids without the knowledge of their parents.

And if all that’s not enough, I was proud to see that Michael had the courage to publicly consecrate his campaign to Our Lady of Guadalupe in a 54-day novena asking for the Blessed Mother’s protection and intercession.
