Just a few days after Republicans were humiliated in the midterm elections, an emboldened new migrant caravan left Honduras this week and is resolutely headed for the United States, according to photos shared by Reuters.
According to a story by the Daily Wire, the migrants were spotted walking through San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on Tuesday, the same day voters across the United States went to the polls.
According to the Wire story, some of the migrants left even prior to the blue wave that flooded the country.
“Trump is on his way out in these elections. That’s why we’re taking the risk. Here in Honduras, we have nothing left,” Jimena Morazán, 47, said, according to one report.
“While they’re going through the election process, we’ll be on our way. We have faith that we’ll arrive while they’re busy with that,” Beverly Medina, 39, who is traveling with her three-year-old daughter, said.
After hearing about the caravan on social media, migrant Jesús Carías, 30, joined it.
One day after the midterms, and the immigrant caravan from Honduras is barreling towards the United States of America. They saw what happened in the midterms and they are more emboldened than ever before. The Democrats are promising free healthcare to illegal immigrants and they want a piece of that taxpayer pie. God help America. 🙏 https://t.co/2HQRp0vSBd

Still, last month, a different migrant caravan left Honduras and crossed into Southern Mexico before the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) declared that there was “absolutely ZERO chance” the group would gain entry into the United States.
In September, yet another migrant caravan formed but was rapidly dissolved by Mexican authorities near the Chiapas-Oaxaca border.
The U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, said in an X post Saturday that while the caravans keep forming, they “HAVE NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER of entering our country.”
“A fundamental part of our strategy is to work closely with the authorities of other countries to stop the caravans before they approach our border. We recognize the recent decisive and effective actions of the governments of Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico,” the embassy said.
“Through the establishment of checkpoints and coordinated work with DHS, these authorities managed to halt the flow of mass illegal immigration. Enforcing border security from the countries of origin delivers results,” the embassy added.
