Abortion on demand: These 6 states allow women to get pregnancy-ending drugs by phone or online

California has become the sixth state to legalize telehealth reproductive care across the US, including contraception, abortion, and gender-affirming care.

Via videoconference, patients living in non-legal states will be able to receive health care from a Californian doctor. Medication can be sent via pharmacy for Californian patients.

New York City has started to provide telehealth abortions via the Virtual ExpressCare system, with medication prescribed according to clinical suitability up to 10 weeks into a pregnancy. Abortion care will also be available directly to people’s homes.

However, German artificial intelligence (AI) startup, Nuya, is helping women to access safe and legally available medicine, rather than illegal abortion providers.
