The tour of the relics of St. Jude the Apostle began with a miraculous healing even before the tour officially began.
The director of Treasures of the Church, Father Carlos Martins, had brought the relic to Owosso, Michigan, to pick up catechetical banners on the life of St. Jude. At the printing shop, 20 people wanted to venerate the relic, but Doug Edwards, the owner of the shop, explained that his wife Noreen was severely disabled and unable to leave the house. Father Martins offered to take the relic to her, but instead petitioned St. Jude to visit Noreen and touch her.
The next day, Doug called Father Martins to say that Noreen had undergone a dramatic improvement in health – she had cooked lunch and was darting around the house “like a young girl.” Noreen even signed up for a Catholic women’s conference, something she previously would have been unable to do.
The Edwardses plan on driving half an hour to attend a stop on the tour in Lansing to thank Father Martins. St. Jude’s tour encompasses 100 stops and is expected to last until next spring.
