Gunmen attacked 20 Christian communities in Central Nigeria, killing at least 140 people and injuring 300. The authorities did not respond for over 12 hours.
In the past 20 years, 62,000 Christians in Nigeria have been killed by Jihadists, and another 5 million have been displaced.
Nigeria has a Muslim north and a mostly Christian south, with conflicts between Christian farmers and Muslim herders from the Fulani ethnic group in the center of the country. The Fulani herders sometimes kill the Christian farmers.
