Prolife Groups Urge President Donald Trump To Pardon 21 Pro-life Activists

Articles | January 21, 2025 | by Catholics for Catholics

Prolife groups are urging President Donald Trump to pardon 21 pro-life activists, including a 76-year-old grandmother named Joan Andrews Bell, who have been imprisoned and prosecuted for their activism under the Biden administration.

The activists were sentenced for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which criminalizes obstructing access to abortion clinics. Among those mentioned is Paulette Harlow, who at 75 years old, received a two-year sentence for her involvement in a peaceful sit-in at an abortion clinic.

The Thomas More Society, a conservative law firm, has petitioned Trump for these pardons, arguing that the Biden administration unfairly targeted these activists with severe sentences for what were otherwise minor trespassing charges.

Trump had previously indicated during his campaign that he would review cases of activists he believed were unjustly prosecuted, hinting at his openness to issuing these pardons.

Other influential prolife voices such as Kayleigh McEnany are also asking president Trump to consider and pardon these pro-life Christians who have been persecuted by the Biden administration:

Catholics for Catholics has also launched a petition campaign to urge president Trump to issue a Pardon for the 21-Prolife heroes. You can join the fight by sharing and signing the petition here > SIGN PETITION >
