He said that it seems too late to have talks with Tehran, but he did not say if the U.S. would join Israel in attacking that country.

To strike or not to strike.
That is the question President Donald Trump is pondering about Iran, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The President discussed and weighed his choices with his advisors, according to the Journal. The meeting at the Situation Room lasted about 90 minutes on Tuesday.
Nevertheless, Newsmax reported that it was not clear if the President and his team reached a decision during the closed-door meeting.
On Wednesday, the President refused to say if American forces were going to strike Iran or some of that country’s nuclear plants. Notwithstanding, he said the Iranians had called but he said, “it’s very late to be talking.”
As for the question if the U.S. will join Israel in fighting Iran, Trump responded to reporters at the White House, “You don’t know that I’m going to even do it. You don’t know. I may do it. I may not do it, I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do.”
“I can tell you this, that Iran’s got a lot of trouble and they want to negotiate. And I say, ‘Why didn’t you negotiate with me before all this death and destruction?’”

According to Newsmax, the President was surrounded by workers who are constructing big new flag poles outside the White House, when he said Tehran is paying for being longtime “bullies.”
“For 40 years they’ve been saying death to America, death to Israel, death to anybody else that they didn’t like,” Trump said. “They were bullies. They were schoolyard bullies. And now they’re not bullies anymore. But we’ll see what happens.”
According to Newsmax, Trump was asked if it was too late for Iran to ask for talks for a new nuclear agreement and an end to the current conflict.
“Nothing’s too late,” he said, before adding, “I said it’s very late. You know, I said it’s very late to be talking. We may meet. It’s, I don’t know, there’s a big difference between now and a week ago.”
“They [the Iranians] even suggested they come to the White House. It’s a big difference but they’ve suggested that they come to the White House. That’s, you know, courageous … it’s like not easy for them to do.”
