“Large scale fines” are coming to California, said President Donald Trump Tuesday, after a transgender athlete scored a couple of victories at a girl’s high school track and field competition. According to The New York Post, Trump had already warned the state not to allow such contests.
Nevertheless, AB Hernandez, a trans athlete of Jurupa Valley High School nabbed first place in triple jump events and in the girls’ high jump in Clovis, on May 31. Trump said on Truth Social: “A Biological Male competed in California Girls State Finals, WINNING BIG, despite the fact that they were warned by me not to do so…as Governor Gavin Newscum fully understands, large scale fines will be imposed!!!.”
Still, the California Interscholastic Federation gave first place medals to the top female athlete in both events. This, according to The Post, produced an uneasy happening because Hernandez had to share his first-place trophy with a rival.
In the competition, Hernandez effortlessly defeated the biological girl rivals in the high jump competition with a leap of five feet, seven inches. But Jillene Wetteland and Lelanie Laruelle were also able to surpass the mark, which permitted them to share the podium with Hernandez.
Hernandez also trounced the biological girl competitors in the triple jump, with a distance of 42 feet and two inches. Nevertheless, Kira Grant Hatcher came in second with 40 feet, five inches.
