The report shows how FBI agents were instructed to investigate a priest and single out traditional Catholics.

During the Biden era, if you were a Catholic who attended the Latin Mass, wore a veil, or had a large family, you were under suspicion.
The House Judiciary Committee revealed in an extensive report that the FBI had conducted an international investigation on traditional Catholics, including spying on a priest and holding interviews with families and choir members of a church.
In one instance, the House Judiciary Committee this week revealed that under the Biden administration, the FBI spied on a Catholic priest who refused to disclose private conversations with a parishioner who was arrested.
Under former President Joe Biden, FBI special agents were instructed to be suspicious of Catholics who attended the Latin or Tridentine Mass, had large families, wore veils and prayed the rosary. In one case, FBI employees at the Richmond field office discussed the priest they were investigating, his ordination, recruitment efforts, location, and credit card information through email.
The Daily Wire reported that the FBI also was in touch with their London office to monitor the priest during a trip to the United Kingdom, according to the report.
The House report detailed how the FBI launched a “formal investigative assessment” against the priest after he refused to answer whether a parishioner had expressed “desires and plans to commit violence.” The FBI employee wrote in an email to the counterterrorism unit at FBI headquarters that the priest “became very uncomfortable and started incoherently stuttering.”
The employee said the priest “requested to speak with the church’s leadership and attorneys” and “refused to speak with us any further but has continued to speak with [the parishioner] while in prison, and even attempted to visit him.”
Catholics for Catholics leads the way against FBI targeting Catholics
In June, Catholics for Catholics President, John Yep, said he was outraged that the FBI under former President Joe Biden had the audacity to do a nationwide investigation of traditional Catholic groups.
“Catholic Americans are still trying to come to grasp with how former President Biden, a fellow self-professed Catholic, could have allowed his FBI to systematically target members of his own Faith,” said Yep. “Few believed former director, Christopher Wray, when he testified before Congress that this anti-Catholic memo was restricted to one lone field office in Richmond. As it always does, the truth finds a way to the surface.”
“We now know for certain that the memo was sent to over 1,000 FBI agents with a second memo being prepared for larger distribution,” Yep said. “Last November, thousands of Catholics for Catholics volunteers worked tirelessly to give President Trump the largest Catholic landslide in US history. We are now demanding accountability for those in the Department of Justice who authorized and allowed this injustice to take place.”
FBI spying on Catholic priests for not divulging the contents of a private conversation with one of their parishioners? Good grief!

An Odd investigation
According to media reports, the FBI under the Biden era concealed the extent of its anti-Catholic operation, which then-FBI Director Wray told Congress was narrowed down to just one memo in 2023.
But the House’s July 22nd report shows how the FBI was conducting a nation-wide investigation of “Radical Traditionalist Catholics.” Still, Wray and other top FBI officials tried to downplay it as a single memo.
The investigation on traditional Catholics was revealed in February 2023, when a former agent and FBI whistleblower showed a memo created by the Bureau’s office in Richmond Virginia. The memo was intended to be an alert to investigate “Radical Traditionalist Catholics” who were allegedly involved in a bogus “anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ and white supremacist ideology,” adding that they are prone to “extremist ideological beliefs and violent rhetoric.”
The fact is, traditional Catholic groups are composed of very diverse parishioners. More and more minorities are joining them, especially from the Latino, African-American and Asian communities.
In Mexico, in places like Guadalajara, people can be seen making lines up to two blocks away just to get into Sunday Masses. The reverence they hold for their worship is nothing like what the FBI under the Biden era indicated.
Most of the traditional groups are made up from large, beautiful families that only want to love God in a more dedicated, reverent way. This is nothing like what the former FBI was indicating.
Political Bias
According to the House report, the FBI used “politically biased and anti-Catholic source material. Many of the articles they cited openly accuse Catholics of being white supremacists. One article titled “The Catholic Church has a Visible White Power Faction” from Sojourner, a progressive Christian publication, was taken down at one point because of misleading statements that editors claimed “called into question the entire substance of the article.”
In addition, the FBI also relied heavily on the Southern Poverty Law Center, a “far-left, anti-religion group that focuses on labeling conservative leaning groups as ‘hate’ groups.” The SPLC considers groups like Focus on the Family, a global evangelical ministry widely popular in Christian circles, to be hate groups for opposing LGBTQ and abortion, according to The Daily Wire.
“The FBI analysts who developed the Richmond memorandum relied on literature with an inherent prejudice against people of faith and those with widely-held, deeply personal views of the sanctity of life,” the Committee notes.
