It is similar to a recent bill passed in Florida that imposes penalties of up to five years in prison and $100,000 in fines for engaging in such practice.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia announced that she plans to introduce a bill that would ban weather modification practices that include geoengineering and cloud seeding. The bill would be similar to a recent bill passed in the state of Florida, according to Latin Times.
“I am introducing a bill that prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity. It will be a felony offense,” Greene wrote on X. She said the legislation was modeled on Florida’s Senate Bill 56, which was signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis (R) in June.
Rachel Campos-Duffy, the Fox News contributor and wife of Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy posted on the X platform that cloud seeding must be taken seriously.
“We have a right to KNOW if cloud seeding had a role in #TexasFlooding. Also need to know why companies are allowed to manipulate weather without public consent??!! Countries like the UAE talk openly about cloud seeding. You’re called a “conspiracy theorist” if you talk about it in the USA. NO ONE should be messing with our weather.”

According to Latin Times, the Florida law foists penalties of up to five years in prison and $100,000 in fines for engaging in weather alteration. State Senator Ileana Garcia, who sponsored the bill, cited resident alarms over “chemtrails”—a term often used in conspiracy theories alleging that condensation trails left by aircraft contain harmful chemicals.
ABC News 9 reported that according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, cloud seeding is the most usual form of weather modification in the US.
That technique, ABC News9 reported, involves an 80-year-old technology that adds tiny particles — like silver iodide crystals –to small clouds to trigger rain or snow.
Nevertheless, when it comes to major national disasters, NOAA reports that “there is no technology capable of creating, stopping, changing, strengthening or redirecting hurricanes in any way.”
