National Intelligence Director Strips Security Clearances from 37 Former Officials

Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence is revoking the security clearances of 37 current and former officials for allegedly manipulating or politicizing intelligence, according to The Washington Times.

Gabbard, a Trump official, said some of these officials “abused the public trust” and leaked classified information without being authorized.

“Being entrusted with a security clearance is a privilege, not a right,” Gabbard posted Tuesday on X. “Those in the Intelligence Community who betray their oath to the Constitution and put their own interests ahead of the interests of the American people have broken the sacred trust they promised to uphold.”

“Any contracts or employment with the U.S. government by these 37 individuals is hereby terminated,” Gabbard wrote in her memo. “Any credentials held by these individuals must be surrendered to the appropriate security officers.”

The list comprised a variety of prior bureaucrats from the Biden administration and a few present officials who will not be working anymore at the National Security Agency and intelligence agencies.

One of the things that observers say annoys Trump more is the notion that there was Russian interference -to help him- during the 2016 presidential election. The media ran with the stories and the possibility that Putin helped the American president win. By contrast, Gabbard is reviving efforts to scrutinize how the Russian-collusion tale came to be.

For years Trump and his team has said former President Barack Obama and cronies made “treason” after the 2016 election by using the Russia narrative to undermine Trump’s first term.
