As the war in Gaza City intensifies, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to New York to address the United Nations while President Donald Trump looked for a way to end the war.
Gaza City is Hamas’ last stronghold, Netanyahu said. Still hundreds of thousands of civilians persist there, afraid that there is no place safe for them to flee, according to Newsmax.
On Wednesday, U.S. envoy Steven Witkoff said America was sure of acquiring a breakthrough on Gaza in the next few days, after President Trump shared a 21-point Middle East peace plan with leaders of Muslim-majority countries in New York.

The International Criminal Court announced a warrant for Netanyahu over supposed war crimes in Gaza. Israel disputes the court’s jurisdiction and denies the allegations.

As Israeli forces advanced deeper in to Gaza City, 19 people were killed on Thursday, local health authorities said. The losses included 11 people from two families in Zawayda town in the central Gaza Strip, where planes from Israel struck a residential building.
Though it did not confirm or comment about the recent Palestinian losses, Israel’s military said it hit 170 places across Gaza during the past 24 hours. The Israelis added that as its forces deepened into Gaza City, it was attacking the “terror infrastructure” employed by militant groups.
Bent on destroying Hamas, Israeli forces rolled into Gaza City with tanks. The conflict in Gaza has escalated after Hamas attacked Israeli citizens in October 2023.
