The president of Catholics for Catholics asks the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, to publish and clarify the reasons why he held a private meeting with LGBTQ agenda promoter Fr. James Martin, especially after a man identified as ‘transgender’ caused the fatal shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minnesota last week, which took the lives of two innocent children and left several others injured.
John C. Yep, President of Catholics for Catholics, said in a post published on X that he was at loss after knowing of a meeting held at the Vatican by Pope Leo and Jesuit Fr. James Martin. According to Catholic News Agency (CNA), Martin was in Rome to head a Jubilee pilgrimage for his LGBTQ ministry outreach.
“Dear Holy Father, the Catholic world in America is reeling from a great tragedy where just last week, a young man who identified as a woman, opened fire upon innocent kids while they were at Holy Mass,” wrote Yep. “The blood of the dead and wounded children still stains the pews of the Annunciation Catholic Church.”

Yep added: “The shooting is one more example of another gender confused individual acting out his demonic anger upon society. In light of this, allowing yourself to meet and be photographed with a priest who has caused grave scandal to the Faithful precisely for his constant promotion of the LGBTQ culture that led to this mass shooting, cuts your sheep to the core.”
The meeting is causing perplexity and grief among faithful Catholics, Yep said. “Regardless of what was said during the meeting, and since there is no official Vatican word on the subject matter of this private audience, we your spiritual children are left in confusion and pain. Please help us understand the intentions behind this.” Yep said.
Martin is a controversial figure in Catholic media. He was very close to Pope Francis, who promoted him and supported his controversial ministry to people with same-sex attraction and gender confusion, but his approach to those subjects often minimizes and is at odds with the Church teachings.
In addition, Fr. Martin at times seems to affirm same-sex orientation as an identity.

Yep said to the Pope: “In the meantime, we honor your office as the Vicar of Christ and we continue to pray for you in your Divine Role of “confirming the brethren” Luke 12 in the Faith.”
