China has allowed a Chinese company to sell Tiktok to an American buyer, said President Donald Trump, according to The Epoch Times.

President Trump and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping started talks on Sept. 19 about a transaction that would permit ByteDance, a China-based company, to sell TikTok to an American buyer.

The President said on Truth Social that China had agreed to the sale of TikTok, but he did not share the settled terms of an agreement.

“The call was a very good one, we will be speaking again by phone, and we appreciate the TikTok approval,” he wrote. Trump added that the call with Jinping was “very productive” and spanned several issues, including the Russia–Ukraine war.”

“We made progress on many very important issues including Trade, Fentanyl, the need to bring the War between Russia and Ukraine to an end, and the approval of the TikTok Deal,” Trump wrote. He also mentioned several upcoming meetings.

“I also agreed with President Xi that we would meet at the APEC Summit in South Korea, that I would go to China in the early part of next year, and that President Xi would, likewise, come to the United States at an appropriate time.”
