Just who is Anastasia J. Casey?
That is the mystery surrounding a book allegedly published by Amazon titled “The Shooting of Charlie Kirk: A Comprehensive Account of the Utah Valley University Attack, the Aftermath, and America’s Response.”
Several publications and newspapers, including the Hindustan Times, reported that the book supposedly appeared as listed for publication and sale on September 9, 2025, two days before Kirk was slain.
The author of the book is allegedly Anastasia J Casey.
Kirk was killed on Thursday Sept. 10 as the conservative commentator was delivering a talk at a Utah university. He was answering questions regarding mass killings when a killer shot him from a rooftop with a Mauser rifle.
According to the Hindustan Times, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the company had investigated the mystery book.
“We have content guidelines governing which books can be listed for sale, and we remove books that do not adhere to these guidelines. The title in question is no longer available for sale. Due to a technical issue, the date of publication that had been displayed for this title, while it was briefly listed, was incorrect, and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused. The title was published late in the afternoon on September 10th,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement to the Hindustan Times.
On Friday, authorities arrested Tyler Robinson, a former college student of Utah State University on an academic scholarship, on suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a weapon causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice – all felony charges, according to Newsmax. The aggravated murder charge carries the possibility of the death penalty.
Formal charges are expected next week, authorities said at a Friday press conference. Gov. Spencer Cox said the state has three days to formally file charging documents.
According to authorities, Robinson has no prior criminal history.
