High-level negotiations come one day before 2nd anniversary of Hamas terror attacks that killed 1,200 people.

A day before the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel that started a war, negotiators from both sides got together in Egypt to hammer out the details of President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
Among other matters on the negotiating table include an armistice to end the two-year war between Israel and Hamas and the return of the 48 hostages still held by the terrorists, according to Fox News.
The talks come one day ahead of the second anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel, when some 1,200 people were slain and 251 others were dragged into the Gaza Strip, where dozens of dead and alive remain hostage.
Egypt announced on Saturday that the high-level negotiations would take place Monday in the coast resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, located in the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, after Hamas’ leadership appeared to accept part of the 20-point blueprint.

Over the weekend President Trump pressed the negotiators taking part in the indirect talks to “move fast,” but he signaled that he viewed Hamas’ response as positive and called on Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.”
Israel has apparently taken heed of Trump’s call, since its military operations were reported to have been lowered over the weekend. Still, a report from Reuters said that 36 people, including children, were killed in a series of strikes across the enclave that hit residential buildings.
On the other hand, reports indicate that Hamas is skeptical about the demand that it completely disarm, and lacks confidence that Israel will cease its military ambitions in the Gaza Strip following the return of all hostages.
Trump’s plans indicate that all hostages be returned within a three-day period, but Hamas has said that is unrealistic, especially when it comes to returning the bodies of the deceased, as some are believed to be buried under rubble.
