Steve Bannon said he thinks President Donald Trump will try to seek a third term, despite the 22nd amendment and he may win the presidency for the third time.

Will Donald Trump leave the presidency in 2028? Don’t bet on it.
Steve Bannon, Trump’s former White House chief strategist and political commentator extraordinaire, said he was confident that his old boss would get a third term as president. And there is even a plan in place for that, he added.
“Trump is going to be president in ‘28 and people ought to just get accommodated with that,” Bannon said in an interview with The Economist.
But under the 22nd Amendment, which stipulates that no person can hold more than two terms of the presidency, Trump cannot run again, according to The Washington Times.
Nevertheless, Bannon said, “There’s many different alternatives. At the appropriate time, we’ll lay out what the plan is, but there is a plan, and Trump will be the president in ‘28.”
“We had longer odds in ’16 and longer odds in ’24 than we’ve got in ’28,” he said. “The country needs him to be president of the United States. We have to finish what we started.”
Steve Bannon insists that Donald Trump will be president again for a third term in 2028—and that America needs him to.

But first, Congress would have to revoke the 22nd Amendment in order for Trump to be able to seek a third term in office. And if American voters truly want him for a third term, then by all means they should get him, Bannon said.
“The only way President Trump wins in 2028, and continues to stay in office, is by the will of the American people, and the will of the American people is what the Constitution embodies,” he said.
“He’s an instrument of divine will, and you can tell this of how he’s pulled this off. We need him for at least one more term,” he said.
As for Trump’s thoughts on a third term, he has played with the notion. He has not spoken clearly about whether his name will be on the ballot box in November 2028, according to The Times.
In March, Trump told NBC News that he wasn’t ruling out a third-term run, but that it was too early to consider.
