Over 62,000 migrant children have been rescued by the Trump administration and freed from vile circumstances, including sex trafficking and forced labor after they trespassed the border without parents under the Biden admin, border czar Tom Homan said.
“Over half a million children were smuggled into this country under Joe Biden,” Homan said on “Fox & Friends” Sunday.
“They lost track of 300,000. President Trump committed on day one that we will do everything we can to find every one of these children.”
According to The Daily Wire, the Biden administration encountered an unprecedented surge of migrant children crossing the border, bringing in about 500,000 of them. According to an Inspector General report from 2024, federal authorities discharged many of them to subpar screened sponsors.
In addition, various federal whistleblowers also spoke about knowingly releasing children to “sponsors” they believed were trafficking the children. Some were reportedly known gang members and criminals.
But according to the New York Post, critics say that statistic comes from a Department of Homeland Security report last year, which concluded that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released some 291,000 migrant children without notices to appear in court between fiscal year 2019 and May 2024 — and has no way to track them after they arrived in the country as unaccompanied minors.

During the 2024 campaign cycle, Trump and Homan frequently attacked former President Joe Biden for losing track of unaccompanied minors who crossed the border.
“This is not even possible to believe, 325,000 migrant children are missing, many of whom have been trafficked and raped,” Trump said during a rally last year when vying against then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
Now, the Trump administration is looking for the missing children and has made huge strides in its effort, Homan told Fox News.
“President Trump saved over 62,000 children’s lives. Some of these children were in sex trafficking we found them, some were in forced labor, some were being mistreated … I can’t even discuss some of the mistreatment we found out about. President Trump again proves why he’s the greatest president in my lifetime. Over 62,000 children rescued by President Trump … children that were ignored and weren’t being looked for under President Biden,” Homan said.
