The plan relies upon the full demilitarization of Hamas in order to begin construction, so there is some doubt about whether it will come to fruition.

Jared Kushner, husband of Ivanka Trump and son-in-law of the president, has developed a plan called “Project Sunrise” along with Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff to redevelop the ruins of Gaza into a luxury resort area.
The plan includes features like beachfront hotels, AI-optimized electricity grids, and a high-speed rail, and “pitches a $112.1billion cost for the project over the span of a decade, with the US supporting about half of that in grants and debt guarantees,” according to the Daily Mail.
The plan could begin as early as two months from now – but that would require removing the remaining bodies still buried beneath an estimated 61 million tons of rubble. It does not appear that Project Sunrise includes plans for the estimated two million Palestinians that would be displaced.

“The news that the Gaza Strip could be turned over to billionaires like Jared Kushner seeking to build upon the graves of thousands of innocent Gaza civilians comes as no surprise,” says John Yep, President of Catholics For Catholics. “While many of the modern day Pharisees have rebuked those courageous influencers drawing attention to the genocide that took place on these bloodied lands, we must never forget the thousands of women and children along with the Christian community and the only Catholic Church standing that was indiscriminately bombed to make way for these resorts.”
“If humanity ceases to address this grave scandal and hold those accountable for the genocide, to quote the words of Christ, ‘If they were to keep quiet, the very stones would cry out,’” Yep concluded.
