The FBI detained five members of an “anti-capitalist, anti-government” extremist band on Friday and charged them with an alleged scheme to carry out organized bombings in the Los Angeles area on New Year’s Eve, according to officials and a criminal complaint.
The Members of a pro-Palestinian radical leftist organization also allegedly planned to attack Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, according to an affidavit obtained by The Daily Wire.
The FBI arrested Tina Lai, Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page and Dante Gaffield around December 12 in Lucerne Valley, California, where they were supposedly planning to try explosive artifacts as a way to prepare for their forthcoming attacks. They now each face charges of conspiracy and possession of a destructive device.
The four who were arrested are alleged members of the “Turtle Island Liberation Front,” which officials describe as anti-government and anti-capitalist. They plotted to at once bomb five sites in Los Angeles and Orange County at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
According to the Daily Wire, the splinter group called themselves the Order of the Black Lotus and passed along an “eight-page, handwritten document titled ‘OPERATION MIDNIGHT SUN’” that laid out the bombing plot to a confidential FBI source, according to a criminal complaint filed Saturday in Los Angeles federal court.
“After an intense investigation, the Department of Justice, working with our @FBI, prevented what would have been a massive and horrific terror plot in the Central District of California (Orange County and Los Angeles),” Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote on X Monday.

“This was an incredible effort by our U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the @FBI to ensure Americans can live in peace. We will continue to pursue these terror groups and bring them to justice,” she added.
The Daily Wire reported that Page and Carroll, two of the members, had plans in January or February to attack ICE agents and their vehicles with pipe bombs. Their future attack plans “would take some of them [ICE agents] out and scare the rest of them,” Carroll said.
The scheme for the group was to position backpacks with makeshift explosive devices (IEDs) inside them at the various places, which included two American companies, according to the court documents.
