This past weekend, Turning Point USA held its annual America Fest (“AmFest”) Conference which featured dozens of conservative speakers, including names like Michael Knowles, Matt Walsh, Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, Jr., and more. One of those speakers was political activist Jack Posobiec, a former Navy intel officer and Catholic, who was pictured holding up his rosary on stage.
An anonymous X account belonging to a self-described conservative posted the picture of Posobiec with his rosary and bemoaned him coming “out on stage, with rosaries aloft, as if he was fending off Dracula. The guy is SUCH a phony and a chaos agent,” to which radio host Mark Levin responded, “Crackpot.”
Users were quick to call out Levin for what appeared to be anti-Catholic bigotry, although Levin later tried to walk back his comments and claim his disdain for Posobiec is rooted in alleged antisemitism or endorsement of other anti-semites. Levin is Jewish and passionately pro-Israel.
Podcaster and former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who also spoke at AmFest, showed her support and posted, “Off to go pray the beautiful rosary @JackPosobiec gave me, like virtually all Christians do, which doesn’t make us ‘crackpots’ no matter what some old, angry anti-Christian nut on weekend Fox says.” Kelly was raised Catholic.

angry anti-Christian nut on weekend Fox says. (Never could get himself into the prime time. Sad!)
Despite Levin’s claim that he’s “never attacked Catholics in my life,” many Christians and Catholics viewed his tirades on X as an attack on Catholics praying in public, particularly as many of his posts occurred on Christmas Day.

Hey, Jack Posobiec, send me your address offline. I want to send you a new, big, beautiful rosary. I believe in prayer. I want you to pray and pray and do so as your beautiful faith teaches. I am all for it. I encourage it. God bless you for it.
