That is the political, “Cobra Kai” style war plan of Turning Point USA: to convince JD Vance’s enemies and rivals from even considering mounting a challenge against him and to ensure that the current Vice President becomes the Republican Party’s 2028 presidential nominee, according to a story by Newsmax.
According to Newsmax, the Los Angeles Times reported on Sunday that Turning Point, the prominent youth-oriented conservative organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk, is getting ready to position envoys across all 99 Iowa counties in the coming months. The objective is to create a campaign-style infrastructure, years ahead of the first-in-the-nation caucuses.
By blitzing Iowa with well-trained political shock troops, Turning Point wants to position Vance with an early advantage. Once that is accomplished, the move should warn off other GOP contenders and “short-circuit” a divisive, internecine nomination fracas.
Newsmax reported that TPUSA is showing a reinvigorated spirit after Kirk, the founder, was assassinated in September as he spoke to college students during a speaking tour. The organization was pivotal in helping President Donald Trump nab the presidency during the 2024 elections.
Now, the organization founded by Kirk is poised consolidate their now legendary grassroot verve and focus it on helping Vance take the Presidency in 2028. The Daily Caller, quoting the Times report, said Turning Point is placing “boots on the ground” in Iowa to garner support for Vance nearly three years ahead of the 2028 election.
As usual, Iowa is key for presidential nominees. The state works as a fundamental test of voter enthusiasm and organizational force.
During TPUSA’s annual AmericaFest gathering in Arizona this month, Vance gave a forward-looking speech, geared toward party unity and an expanding coalition — a message that aligned with the organization’s goal of avoiding internal GOP fisticuffs.
“Every American is invited,” Vance told the crowd, urging conservatives not to get trapped in “endless, self-defeating purity tests.”
Erika Kirk, the widow of the slain leader, publicly supported Vance, saying it was the wish of her fallen husband. She promised to make her spouse’s vision come true.
She said, “we are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for ‘28 in the most resounding way possible.”
