Catholics For Catholics has formally extended an invitation to the members of USCCB Committee on Migration to attend the ceremony on January 22 at which fellow Catholic Tom Homan will be given the Protector of America Award.
The USCCB Committee on Migration members include:
Border Czar Tom Homan was selected for this award for his leadership in rescuing 62,000 migrant children from human trafficking and restoring law and order in America. The award will be presented by Gen. Michael Flynn under the intercession and protection of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. Bishop Strickland, “America’s bishop,” will be at the event to give a special blessing to Homan and his heroic team.

In a recent pastoral letter, Bishop Strickland wrote that “[w]hen immigration systems reward deception or enable exploitation, when borders become corridors of human suffering, the Church must not merely manage that suffering – she must challenge the systems that perpetrate it.”
Pope Leo XIV also recently said, “every country has a right to determine who and how and when people enter.”
Catholics For Catholics wishes to help foster a productive dialogue, as Mr. Homan has expressed publicly his desire to be able to meet with USCCB leaders to discuss immigration policy in the United States.
In the invitation, Catholics For Catholics conveyed gratitude to the bishops for advocating so strongly for the ability of all migrants to have access to the Sacraments.
The event can be watched live at 11:00 AM via this link: cforc.com/event/protectorofamerica
