The officer who fatally shot a Minneapolis anti-ICE protester suffered internal bleeding after being hit in the vexing encounter, a Department of Homeland Security official said.
Seasoned ICE agent Jonathan Ross suffered the bleeding to his torso, the DHS official said, according to Fox News.
The DHS official did not give details on how stern the internal bleeding was, but Ross was hospitalized after the incident and released later that day. The federal agent who fatally shot protester Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis was also able to walk away from the scene, according to video captured of the aftermath.

Kristi Noem, Homeland Security’s Secretary had previously said the agent was treated at a hospital following the incident on Jan. 7 before being released later that same day.
Ross’ health update comes after Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey previously toned down the agent’s injuries.
“The ICE agent walked away with a hip injury that he might as well have gotten from closing a refrigerator door with his hips,” he told reporters Friday. “Give me a break. No, he was not run over. He walked out of there with a hop in his step.”
But cellphone videos of the confrontation have provoked a mix of reactions from officials and lawmakers.
So he admits she hit the agent…. 🤔

Federal law enforcement officials have said that when Good drove her vehicle toward the ICE officer, he acted in self-defense and described the driver’s actions as “an act of domestic terrorism.” In addition, police have also said that Good had been following and harassing federal officers earlier that day.
“Many of you have been told this law enforcement officer wasn’t hit by a car, wasn’t being harassed, and murdered an innocent woman,” Vice President JD Vance said Friday in a post on X. “The reality is that his life was endangered and he fired in self-defense.”
