They have been warned.

President Donald Trump cautioned Minnesota officials Thursday morning that if they do not stop cheering “professional agitators and insurrectionists” from assaulting federal law enforcement agents, he will deploy U.S. troops to subdue the hostilities.

Trump lambasted “corrupt politicians” in Minnesota and said if they “don’t obey the law” and don’t stop attacks on the “Patriots of I.C.E.,” he is poised to cite the Insurrection Act to “quickly put an end” to the turbulence, according to a story by Newsmax.

Tensions in Minneapolis worsened after a federal agent shot a man in the leg while he attempted to arrest him Wednesday night, federal officials said.

Officers were trying to take into custody an illegal migrant from Venezuela when the suspect escaped by car, collided into a parked vehicle, and fled on foot, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Three individuals later attacked the officer — one holding a shovel and another a broom handle — before the agent fired what the agency described as a defensive shot.

DHS officers took into custody two additional suspects. The wounded man’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Trump blames local leadership in Minnesota as the reason for causing such havoc for the operations carried out by Immigration officers. He contends that has bolstered activists to go from bad to worse, from protesting to attacking officers who are performing their lawful duties.

But Democrat Gov. Tim Walz has depicted the immigration raids as over the top and accused the federal government of instigating bedlam — rhetoric Republicans countered by saying that it only aggravates the violence and invites further conflicts.
