Vice President J.D. Vance acutely supported a federal immigration officer who allegedly shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, alleging that the ICE agent was defending himself from an attack during the line of duty.
The Vice President depicted the incident as “an attack on federal law enforcement” and “an attack on the American people,” contending that bombast rhetoric from leftist forces had radicalized and turned groups of activists into violent factions that have put the lives of officers in danger, according to a story by Newsmax. He described the coverage of the case by the media in portraying the officers as “an absolute disgrace”, asserting that the agent acted in defense of his life.
Vance also vowed that the White House will fight domestic terrorism while increasing efforts to identify financing and organizing networks it believes are behind the growing actions against federal immigration officers.
“These people should not feel emboldened because they have, for the first time, maybe in American history, an administration that is not going to tolerate political violence of any kind from anywhere,” Vance told reporters at the press conference, shown live on Newsmax.
At issue is the death of Renee Nicole Good. She was allegedly shot to death by an officer during an Immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis. The governor of the state, Tim Walz, sharply criticized the incident and the Trump administration, saying that it was an incident that should have never happened.
But Vance countered that the officer acted in self-defense and rejected claims that the shooting amounted to murder.

“She was trying to ram this guy with her car. He shot back. He defended himself,” Vance said.
The Vice President also vehemently criticized the media coverage of the shooting, saying it endangered officers and distorted what occurred.
“The way that the media, by and large, has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace,” he said. “And it puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day.”
Vance said he deliberately described the case as an attack rather than a shooting.
“And I say attack very, very intentionally because this was an attack on federal law enforcement. This was an attack on law and order. This was an attack on the American people,” he said.
Vance said President Donald Trump and he stand behind immigration officers.
