Catholics for Catholics Stands Strong Behind Carrie Prejean Boller – Announces “Catholic Champion Award” For Her Defense of the Catholic Faith to be given at Upcoming Catholic Prayer for America Gala in Washington DC – March 19
Yesterday, February 11, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced the removal of Carrie Prejean Boller from President Donald Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission. Carrie, a Catholic convert and former Miss California USA, sparked an intense debate at the recent commission hearing when she rooted her rejection of Zionism in her Catholic faith. The backlash she has received has been fierce.
Politics is always downstream from religion. While Catholics acknowledge that the modern 1948-State of Israel has a NATURAL right to exist, pushing a false “Biblical Mandate” to support its domination of the entire Holy Land is neither Catholic, nor in America’s interests.
Tragically, this theological error has often been used to justify both, horrific crimes against our Christian Palestinian brethren, and catastrophic foreign policy decisions by American leaders. Nor does recognizing this truth require us to turn a blind eye to the dangers of radical Islam, whose tenets are not only incompatible with the Christian foundations of the West, but continue to inspire violence against it.
Of course as Catholics, antisemitism — hatred of Jews — is wrong. But so is equivocating resisting “Zionism” with hatred of Jews. This is what my fellow Catholic Carrie Prejean so boldly stood for on the panel for Religious Liberty.

In a few weeks, Catholics for Catholics will host our third annual “Catholic Prayer for America” Gala in Washington, DC on March 19th. We will be assembling hundreds of Catholic leaders from around the nation to gather in prayer – since prayer is the best weapon we have in our fight for America. As is custom we have chosen a few individuals who have stood out for their patriotism and defense of the Catholic faith.
As I watched my sister in Christ getting attacked from all sides along with the silence from those who should be protecting her, we made a decision. After speaking with her for the first time last night, I am happy to announce that I have invited Carrie Prejean Boller to attend our event and receive one of our “Catholic Champion” Awards in recognition of her courageous defense of the Faith. We were honored to receive her acceptance.
This is what Catholics for Catholics does. When one of our own is out there bravely trying to stand up for what is right and is getting attacked, rest assured we won’t sit back. We are a movement of faithful patriots that back frontline warriors like Carrie, who love God and the USA with the power of our Catholic faith.
