The 2026 Catholic Prayer for America Gala just keeps getting better!
We are thrilled to announce that “America’s Tenor,” Christopher Macchio, will be returning to sing for his second year on March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph, in Washington, DC!
Christopher Macchio is a globally acclaimed classical crossover tenor who has toured four continents, sung in 14 languages, and captivated audiences at the White House, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center.
Macchio sang at the 47th President’s Inauguration, and his televised rendition of Ave Maria, performed as a tribute to Corey Comperatore, the firefighter who lost his life during the July 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump in Butler, PA, moved millions worldwide and further solidified his reputation as a voice of national significance.
Here is what Macchio told us when he accepted our invitation for this year’s gala:

Our nation was founded on unshakeable faith in God, personal responsibility, and the eternal truth that true liberty flows directly from our Creator. In this pivotal year of America’s 250th anniversary, we must rededicate ourselves to the power of prayer, the sacred strength of family, and the timeless moral foundations that have sustained and elevated this country for generations. I stand with all who believe that through unwavering faith, moral courage, and unity under God, the United States will remain the world’s preeminent leader—serving as the indispensable beacon of freedom, prosperity, and hope—while guiding a renewed Western civilization toward an ever more prosperous, secure, and divinely blessed future for generations to come.”
Attendees from last year’s gala have kept closely in their heart Macchio’s astoundingly beautiful rendition of Panis Angelicus, sung while Bishop Strickland gave Benediction of the Holy Sacrament amidst candles and incense. You can watch the powerful, emotional video of his performance here.
