Israel’s Defense Minister vowed that any new leader from Iran that belongs to its current ruling regime would be killed. Period.
Defense Minister Israel Katz said that any new leader from the current regime would be a “target for elimination,” during a post on X, adding that his country is poised to eliminate any future leaders from Iran who follow a hostility towards his country or its allies, according to a story by Newsmax.
“Every leader appointed by the Iranian terror regime to continue and lead the plan to destroy Israel, to threaten the United States and the free world and the countries of the region, and to suppress the Iranian people—will be an unequivocal target for elimination,” Katz wrote early Wednesday.
“It does not matter what his name is or the place where he hides,” he added.
The Israel Defense Forces have been ordered to carry out the elimination mission as part of the country’s military operation against Iran, as directed by Katz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The Prime Minister and I have instructed the IDF to prepare and act by all means to carry out the mission as an integral part of the objectives of Operation Lion’s Roar,” he wrote.
Without mincing words, Katz also added that Israel will coordinate with the U.S. strategies to diminish the Iranian regime and support conditions that could lead to political change in the country.
“We will continue to act with full force, together with our American partners, to crush the regime’s capabilities and create the conditions for the Iranian people to overthrow it and replace it,” he wrote.
On Saturday, Israel and the U.S. launched a fusillade of airstrikes against Iran, aiming at Iranian military sites and senior regime figures, marking one of the most direct confrontations between the longtime adversaries.
