Ukrainian-American billionaire Leo Radvinsky, majority owner of the sexually explicit website OnlyFans, died at the age of 43 after a battle with brain cancer, the company announced on Monday.
Radvinsky purchased the parent company of OnlyFans in 2018 and became the company director. He had previously not revealed to the public that he was ill. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
Radvinsky had collected $1.3 billion in dividends from OnlyFans in the past five years. The platform functions as a subscription program, where users can pay individual “creators” – most often women that dress and perform in sexually explicit manners – a fee to receive new content.
Both consumers and creators of OnlyFans report mental health issues, and it’s seen as essentially another wing of prostitution and exploitation, with many vulnerable, low-income women turning to the platform for quick cash. It is also sadly seen as a way for the student population to make money part-time.

James Fishback, a Catholic who is running for governor in Florida to succeed Ron DeSantis, has proposed a “sin tax” specifically aimed at dismantling OnlyFans and discouraging Floridians from becoming “performers” on the site.
OnlyFans creators would have to pay 50% of all profits to the state of Florida, which Fishback intends to use the funds for supporting men’s mental health, increasing teacher pay, and improving school lunches.
In a January interview, Fishback explained that the purpose of the tax is “to disincentivize and deter behavior.”
“And yes,” Fishback said, “as Florida governor, I don’t want young women who could otherwise be mothers, raising families, rearing children – I don’t want them to be selling their bodies to sick men online.”
He continued: “And I don’t want young, impressionable men who have strayed from Christ, who have strayed from our Lord and Savior, to be told and drawn into lust and have their entire brain rewired.”
