WASHINGTON — The war in Iran is taking its toll on America’s armed forces, as the Pentagon admitted Tuesday that around 150 U.S. service members have been wounded since the beginning of Operation Epic Freedom.
“The vast majority of these injuries have been minor,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement, “and 108 service members have already returned to duty. Eight service members remain listed as severely injured and are receiving the highest level of medical care.”
In addition, seven service members have perished under Iranian strikes — including six following a March 1 Iranian strike on a US base in Kuwait and one following a strike the same day on a base in Saudi Arabia, according to a story by Newsmax.
