The American attacks against that country are set to reach new heights, said Pete Hegseth.

The day of reckoning has arrived.
Pete Hegseth, the U.S. War Secretary said Tuesday that the United States was getting ready for what he labeled as the “most intense day of strikes” yet in the continuing military push against Iran.
Hegseth said those comments in a briefing he held with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine at the Pentagon.
The next series of U.S. attacks would considerably heighten the tempo and scale of the air campaign that has been ongoing since the start of the U.S.-led operation targeting Iranian military infrastructure, Hegseth said, according to Newsmax.
The War Secretary said Tuesday’s operations were planned to further reduce Iran’s missile systems, naval capabilities, and weapons production centers.
“Today will be the most intense day of bombing so far,” Hegseth said, underscoring that U.S. forces were poised to execute a large number of coordinated strikes across several targets inside Iran.
Hegseth told reporters that the campaign — which the Pentagon has described as a focused military effort — has the goal to demolish Iran’s capability to launch missile and drone attacks and prevent the country from advancing toward nuclear weapons resources.
Sec. Of War Pete Hegseth: "Today will be yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran — the most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes… On the other hand, the last 24 hours have seen Iran fire the lowest number of missiles."

Still, Hegseth held that the United States is making important progress in achieving those goals.
Caine offered additional details about the military impact of the operation so far, telling reporters that Iranian bellicose capacities have been sharply reduced since the strikes began.
Caine said so far Iran’s military response has not surpassed what U.S. officials expected when the campaign started.
“They’re fighting, and I respect that,” he said. “I don’t think they’re more formidable than we thought.”
